Emma has a unique obsession with fine food. 25-years in the making and in her blood for 3 generations, it’s not hard to see why her event catering is highly sought after by people in the know.

Emma’s Grandmother was a pioneering Interior Designer and Owner of Colonial Galleries on Fullarton Road in Adelaide. The store oozed an unashamedly trail-blazing modern-meets-classic style right throughout the 60s 70s & 80s. Revolutionary cookware, fabrics and homewares came together with Adelaide’s first exclusive cooking school, and internationally acclaimed guests. Featured many times over in Belle Magazine and Vogue, the store was known for supplying chic French, Italian, English & Scandinavian brands such as Marimeko, Liberty, Pilivet, Copoco, Royale Copenhagen and Arabia. It was the epicentre of gourmet golden-era decadence.

Emma’s mother Dianne Reeves was also a chef, caterer, food stylist and a teacher at the Colonial Galleries Cooking School, where she taught with her signature passionate style and creative flare.

So it was by natural progression that Emma was destined to fulfil her family’s extreme passion and work with food.

Initially, she travelled and worked her way through Europe to then settle at Regency Park College, learning under the guise of Cheong Liew. Poached by Cheong to work at a restaurant called Fish of Melbourne Street at the end of the opulent 80s era, Emma continued to work in and around the restaurant scene with many talented industry greats of the day.

Out of a need to express her own individual creativity, Emma went on to start her catering and food styling business while bringing three wildly colourful children into the world. The past 25 years informs Emma’s current innovative, creative food design where her main goal is to keep the integrity and content of the food pure, from its organic origin. A true advocate for regional and locally sourced produce, Emma remains the ultimate South Australian culinary custodian.

In 2021, food design with Emma is a one-off exclusive journey, an adventure that feeds the soul with finger-on-the-pulse, only-of-the-minute flavour combinations matched with breathtaking visual display. Emma has worked with many of Adelaide’s leading commercial food photographers and an event with Emma gleans a certain je ne sais quoi, an inherent level of inimitable excellence underlined by a detailed, professional edge.

Every photoshoot has been so enjoyable, fun and most of all professional with her calm attitude, amazing preparation and research, always an abundance of brilliant props to work with and fantastic attention to detail combined with an understanding of what the client wants and the photographers require. Emma has recently completed her dream kitchen; a working facility for hire which allows plenty of natural light to cook and dine.
